One guy, a drum kit, and a laptop full of EDM is enough to fill Sims Park’s amphitheater — the city’s “Concert in the Park” series has TL Jentgens next, Saturday, Oct. 17, 7-9 p.m.
Jentgens runs the whole show solo: live drumming over his own EDM tracks, vocals, lights, and video effects, no backing band required. The City of New Port Richey calls it “a high-energy concert experience,” and it’s free, same as the rest of the Sims Park series.
Food trucks and beer/seltzer (21+) are on site, or grab dinner first at one of the restaurants a few blocks away in Downtown New Port Richey — the DART trolley runs 5 p.m. to midnight if you’d rather not deal with parking twice. Bring your own chair or blanket; it’s open lawn seating, not reserved.
If a Saturday in New Port Richey sounds good but the timing’s off, the Cotee River Bike Fest closes down the same downtown the weekend before, and the same stretch of downtown has its own morning coffee spots worth knowing about either way.
Good to know: Sims Park, 6341 Bank Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. Saturday, Oct. 17, 7-9 p.m. Free admission.
