Center Court at the Shops at Wiregrass turns into an open mic once a month — 3rd Friday Karaoke Nights runs this Friday, Oct. 16, 7-9 p.m., free to sing or just watch.
Sign-ups happen on site rather than online, and the center supplies the setup; you supply the nerve. Lawn chairs are encouraged since most of the audience area is open plaza rather than fixed seating, and the center’s restaurants and bars stay open around it if you want food or a drink while you work up to your song. No outside coolers or alcohol are allowed on site, which is the one rule that trips people up — whatever you’re drinking needs to come from one of the restaurants already there.
Worth knowing before you go: the center has had a Center Court refresh underway this year, and karaoke has temporarily relocated to The Circle on Piazza Ave during construction in past months. Confirm the location hasn’t shifted again before you park and walk over.
It’s a genuinely low-stakes version of karaoke — outdoors, free, no cover band required — which is part of why it’s lasted as a monthly fixture rather than a one-off. If Friday doesn’t work, the same weekend has Rocky Horror Picture Show running at Richey Suncoast Theatre and an Oktoberfest in Dade City.
Good to know: 28211 Paseo Drive, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543. Third Friday of every month, 7-9 p.m. Free to participate, free parking on site.
