A haunted house and a petting zoo share the same city park for one night a year, and this Saturday is that night. Main Street Zephyrhills runs its annual Halloween Howl at Zephyr Park — five hours of hayrides, inflatable slides, a haunted house, “ghost tours,” a costume contest, and trick-or-treating laid out block by block instead of door by door.
It’s built for families who want the candy-and-costumes part of Halloween without the after-dark door-knocking — vendors and food trucks line the park, and the whole thing wraps up well before anyone’s trick-or-treat bucket gets too heavy to carry.
Zephyr Park sits right behind the Main Street corridor that also hosts Zephyrhills’ Veterans Day Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, and Festival of Lights later this fall — worth bookmarking if downtown Zephyrhills isn’t already on your regular rotation.
Good to know: Zephyr Park, 38500 5th Ave, Zephyrhills, FL 33542. Saturday, Oct. 24, 4-9pm. Free. Costume contest and haunted house hours may vary — check mainstreetzephyrhillsevents.org before you go.
