The 1926 building on Main Street that used to pour green smoothies is about to start serving tacos until 2 in the morning instead. Main Street Food is moving into the space that most recently housed Gone Juicing Cafe at 5743 Main Street in downtown New Port Richey, with a late-October opening target.
Owner Jason Bryant, a St. Petersburg native who previously owned The Catalyst on the Deuces and the Manhattan Casino in St. Petersburg, built the concept after moving to New Port Richey and noticing downtown didn’t have much open late. The menu is straight street food — tacos in a variety of flavors, wings, hot dogs, sausages, popcorn and boiled peanuts — grab-and-go with some dine-in seating and music. Hours are set to run Thursday through Saturday, 6pm-2am, rolling out in phases rather than full hours on day one.
One real caveat: as of this writing, the opening hadn’t been locked down beyond “late October,” so call or check before making a special trip in the first week.
Good to know: 5743 Main Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. Planned hours: Thursday-Saturday, 6pm-2am.
More downtown New Port Richey: Morgan’s on Main, a few doors down and also opening this fall, plus The Social’s trivia nights and the Cotee River Bike Fest.
