A working blacksmith’s forge and a line of Civil War infantry share the same acre of Dade City one weekend this November. Pioneer Florida Museum & Village runs its annual Civil War Reenactment on Saturday, Nov. 14, with a school-focused Civil War History Field Trip Day the day before, Friday, Nov. 13.
Friday’s field trip day (9am-1pm) is built for school groups, with reenactors walking through 1860s military life, period demonstrations and hands-on history stations spread across the village’s historic buildings. Saturday opens it to the public from 10am to 4pm, with reenactors in camp and a living-history demonstration running alongside the museum’s usual working exhibits — blacksmithing, carpentry and the rest of the pioneer village.
Reenactor registration is handled separately through the museum. The museum didn’t post a reenactment-specific ticket price, so regular museum admission applies: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for students, free for children under 5, and free for active-duty military and immediate family with ID.
Pioneer Florida Museum & Village sits one mile north of downtown Dade City off US 301. Self-guided tours run daily; group tours of 10 or more need an appointment, and the museum says to arrive by 3:30pm to have time to see everything.
