Sims Park has had a war memorial on its grounds for years, overlooking Orange Lake, and every Nov. 11 New Port Richey’s Veterans Day Parade marches right past it. Unlike Zephyrhills, which moves its Veterans Day Parade to the nearest Saturday, New Port Richey runs its parade on the actual holiday — 5pm on Main Street, a weekday evening timeslot that works around work and school schedules.
It’s a shorter, more intimate parade than the big holiday ones later in the year, which is part of the appeal — this is a hometown event built around the memorial that’s already there every other day of the year, not a production built from scratch.
If you’re weighing which Pasco Veterans Day event to catch, Zephyrhills runs its version Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10am, ending at the Zephyrhills Museum of Military History. New Port Richey’s is the Wednesday-evening, on-the-actual-date version.
Good to know: Downtown New Port Richey, Main Street. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, 5pm. Free.
