New Port Richey Turns Its Downtown Art Walk Into a Ticketed History Tour After Dark

Looking out over the Cotee River from Sims Park

New Port Richey’s downtown has a public art installation most people drive past without knowing its name — “Tides of Time,” a series tied to the city’s history along the Pithlachascotee River. For one night this fall, New Port Richey Main Street turns it into a ticketed after-dark event: a guided walk through downtown history once the sun goes down and the storefronts along Main Street take on a different look entirely.

At $15 a ticket, this isn’t a free weekend freebie — it’s a small, organized experience, which usually means a real guide and real stories rather than a self-guided wander. New Port Richey’s downtown has more history than its strip-mall-adjacent reputation suggests: it was platted in the 1920s as a planned community, drew a wave of Hollywood-adjacent visitors in its early decades, and still has the walkable, river-fronting bones from that era.

If $15 and a Thursday night doesn’t work for your schedule, the same stretch of downtown is free to walk any evening, and Sims Park’s riverfront view costs nothing at all.

Good to know: Downtown New Port Richey, Main Street. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, 7-9pm. $15 per ticket — check nprmainstreet.com for ticket availability.
