Six real, dated things are happening across Pasco County this weekend, from a $7.75 movie night in a hundred-year-old theater to a week of restaurant deals that starts Sunday. Here’s what’s actually on, by day.
Friday, August 14
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (40th Anniversary) — Richey Suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd, New Port Richey. Doors 7:15 p.m., screening at 8 p.m. $7.75 plus tax and fees. Rated PG-13. The theater that opened as the Meighan in 1926 running a movie night is about as on-brand as this venue gets.
Line dancing at The Stockyard — 1916 US Hwy 19, Holiday. Lessons at 7:30 p.m., all skill levels. $6 cover for 21+, no cover after 9 p.m. Doors 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. This one runs Thursday through Saturday, so it’s not a special occasion — it’s just what the venue does most nights, and Friday is as good a night as any to try it.
Saturday, August 15
Fresh Market at Wiregrass — The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive, Wesley Chapel. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Third Saturday of the month, which puts it right on this weekend. Over 80 vendors, live music, a kids’ choo-choo train, free parking.
The Marketplace on Trouble Creek — 6825 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, at Calvary Chapel Worship Center. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., also the third Saturday of the month. Crafts, produce, baked goods, food trucks, live music — smaller and more local than the Wiregrass market, and on the opposite side of the county.
Woodstock 69 — A Tribute to the Most Iconic Concert — Richey Suncoast Theatre. Two shows: 5 p.m. matinee and 8 p.m. evening. $31–$42 general admission, VIP box (4 seats) $177, plus tax and fees. A tribute set covering The Who, Santana, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, doors 45 minutes before each show.
Line dancing at The Stockyard, night two — Same venue as Friday, $5 cover for 21+ on Saturdays instead of $6. “Sink or Swim” runs 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for $15, well drinks and drafts included, for anyone who wants to commit past the free lesson.
Sunday, August 16
Downtown Dine Out kicks off — Downtown New Port Richey, running Sunday through the following Saturday, August 22. Prix-fixe specials at restaurants across the district. It’s not a single ticketed event, it’s a week-long invitation to work through downtown’s restaurant scene one dinner at a time — and this weekend is when it starts.
